Poll

Who will be the Broncos’ primary running back this season?

An all-night bargaining session has resulted in a five-year contract for Ryan Clady, the Broncos' first-round draft pick.

The deal, worth $17.5 million with $11.5 million in guarantees, didn't get hashed out until early Friday morning after continuous talks between Clady's agent, Pat Dye Jr., and the Broncos front office bridged substantial gaps that existed even Thursday night.

Now that Clady , the 12th selection overall, has a signed contract, he will be on the field for the Broncos' first training-camp practice at 11:15 a.m. Friday

The Broncos signed second-round pick Eddie Royal on Thursday, meaning all nine picks in April's draft are in the fold and will be on time for camp.

Clady is expected to be the starting left tackle for the Broncos.

Rookie Powell out for season

Broncos rookie defensive tackle Carlton Powell will miss the season with a torn Achilles tendon. Powell had been designated to the team's physically unable to perform (PUP) list to open training camp.

When asked after Friday's morning practice why Powell had been moved, coach Mike Shanahan said Powell had suffered the injury in closed conditioning workouts.

By league rules teams have to designate players who cannot take the field for training camp practices, so teams across the league designate players for the PUP just before they practice for the first time.

Powell is the only player the Broncos have designated for PUP so far. Powell will be moved to injured reserve at the start of the season.

Powell was the Broncos' fifth-round selection in this past April's draft.

Well Done Front Office. Way to want to be good Clady by getting into camp. This is the way a team and players trying to come together to win should do things.

All I have to say is "Ryan just be a better Tackle than that clown George Foster. PLEASE!". Good luck o-line you will need it this year.

I hear ya, Squatch. Now begins the process of finding out what kind of bust we have...a hall of fame bust, or, well, you know...

I'm looking forward to seeing how or defense has improved (they better have improved).

    Rod Smith for Mayor.

Squatch, I think we'll be fine. It helps that we have Nalen back. It also, helps that some of the starters played a year together so they can gel. Continuity, that's the key. Everyone needs to be on the same page. Let us think, Clady, "Rookie of the Year".

Great, we lose a DT before camp starts, any chance we could sign Rod Coleman, he's not what he used to be, but he gives a good vetern pressence that can handle 20 snaps a game.

Rookie of the Year. That would be nice. I want to see the Broncos running the ball down teams throats like the good old days of Davis, Gary (one season), Anderson & Bell (one Season).

Damn I really miss those days.

Squatch, isn't that the truth. But as only a Bronco fan will say, "man, I look forward to THIS year". I'm very excited. Yes, we lost a DT, bigbadthor, but we still have McKinley, Robertson, Thomas, Mallard, Harris (6'5", 305 lbs.). Plus, it's early enough to pick up an extra DT if we choose. At least it didn't occur during the regular season.
    GOOOOOOOO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
