Dresses make a splash at Riverfront fashion show

Rikke Dreesman, who works at the Riverfront Park sales center, found her yellow flowered maxi dress in Breckenridge.
Staci Walls, a mutual fund agent for Express Financial Services, stood out in a gold and sequin tunic.
The heels on Pam Aurbach's Fendi sandals brought Style Matters to our knees.
Commercial real estate broker Kelci Hayward looked smokin' in a Kiki Riki backless number, with an Aldo yellow handbag and Jessica Simpson pumps.
Neiman Marcus personal shopper Dana Bresee was dressed up-to-the-minute in an Alice & Olivia maxi dress, Prada purse and Tory Burch thong sandals.
Jodi Ellis wears Emporio Armani sandals that we couldn't take our eyes off of.
Karen Edson, in the public affairs department of the Environmental Protection Agency, was stylish in zipper sandals by Michael Kors.
Bethany Meyer quit her job and is traveling around the world. She's wearing a yellow MoonKats shift and sunglasses from the Scooter Store.

Social worker Beth Dornan accessorized her sophisticated mushroom-shade Forever 21 dress with red earrings, red patent leather pumps and red lipstick.
Couples who made a fashion statement included One Realty Realtor Lydia Lin, in a colorful mini, accompanied by Greg Gold, an attorney at Kiel, Trueax and Gold, who wore Lucchese boots and a custom-made suit from Kaufman's Tall & Big Men's Shop.
Style Matters: Last week, we dropped in on one of the summer's hippest events in town, the Riverfront Park Fashion Series. Wow! Were we impressed.
Producers Caroline Ellett and Tobie Orr put on quite the dog and pony show, which was fitting, considering it was a benefit for The Railyard Dogs, an organization that improves the lives of downtown dogs.
Tents and cabanas were set up on the Riverfront Park plaza, backed with a stunning view of the Millennium Bridge. The location was perfect for an outdoor soiree. Neiman Marcus hosted a fashion show featuring clothing from the store's fall collection. (Tip: Load up on berry colors - purple, violet and fuchsia - and humungo, chunky jewelry.)
The people-watching was spectacular. The young and beautiful came out in droves decked out in the latest trends. Flash: Skinny jeans with tops are out. These women got the fashion message - the trend is dresses, dresses, dresses. We saw everything from itsy-bitsy body-hugging lycra sausage stuffers, to the newest style - long, flowy, maxi dresses. Whether it was solid and vibrant or soft and muted, black and white or floral and printed, mini or maxi, if it was a dress, it rocked.
